About Sneakers & Lipstick

Hi, I'm Maygen. Ever finally have five minutes to get ready but would rather spend that moment reading one last story to your kiddo or eating a leftover piece of pizza you just found in the fridge? Hey, me too! But, my grandma always said, "Even an old barn looks better with a little paint," so I always keep a tube of lipstick in the car.

I've been a professional writer for an age, crafting bios, writing product copy, doing assorted freelance projects, and penning lyrics with bands I've played in. The Rooster, a now-defunct online mag at which I was the Editor, opened my eyes to the joy of lifestyle writing and later I joined a blog group called Our Collective Muse who have the prettiest content-- you should follow them immediately if you aren't already. 

If writing's my bread, styling's my butter as I've been working in the industry for almost 15 years (yikes, right?!). I've been Key Wardrobe on a zillion music videos, numerous national commercials, and a television show that I also helped to produce called Nightclub Confidential. I also do personal styling, helping people from career professionals to musicians to find their voice in fashion.

But mostly, I'm a mom. Sneakers & Lipstick is my naptime activity... and a surefire way to ensure my home maintains that 'lived-in' look.
