HAVE AN EVENT YOU’D LIKE TO SEE ON MY GUIDE?

If your event falls Thursday to Sunday, simply get in touch! My weekend event guide is made with volunteer hours and there is no charge to be featured. Here are my criteria to appear on the guide:

• As an atheist, events I feature are not affiliated with a church. Sometimes they are housed in a church, sometimes they are even put on by church organizations, but they never have a religious agenda.

• As a vegetarian, I don’t feature bull riding, meat festivals, or anything I’m uncomfortable with.

• The event must be something to do. The guide is used by folks planning their weekend and the expectation is that I deliver events they can go to. Every day, I’m asked to share about fundraisers, gofundme pages, charity BBQs, or online auctions but that’s not the spirit of my guide. I’ve chosen a few charitable causes close to my heart to whom I gift ad space.

• I don’t share or re-share posters without ad spend. Please remember, ad space is my job. My gift is the guide!

• My priority is low and no cost events and my focus is family-friendly ideas but you’ll find a mix on my guide. I want there to be something for everyone.

• Please submit your event 3-7 days in advance of its nearest Thursday morning. If you’re messaging me the Friday after it’s posted, I can’t guarantee I’ll see that message and find time to add.

• Info I need is the event title, location, time, one sentence of description, age recommendation or restriction, and a page I can link to. Please send to maygen.kardash@gmail.com with the subject line “Weekend Event Guide” or you can message via any social media platform.

By choice, I’m not affiliated with any media outlet & my pages are quite personal. I reserve the right to decline events for reasons other than what’s listed here. I love being a community resource and take my job seriously. My Thursday goal is to make the best and most inclusive guide to Saskatoon for anyone living or visiting the city, every dang week.
