Everything You Need To Know About Eyebrow Lamination

“How are my eyebrows both nearly invisible and totally out of control?!” I asked, looking in the mirror at at the studio of my friend and master Makeup Artist Lisa Hallam. My brows have never been my strong point, requiring a pencil or powder to make me look less like one of those celebrities-without-eyebrows pics, but lately I’ve been neglecting them even more than normal, hoping like Jurassic Park that nature will find a way. Did not happen. And then, like the good friend she is, Lisa told me I needed help. So, here I am a few hours after she came through for me, bloggin’ with the most pinch-to-zoom-worthy brows you ever did see, all thanks to something that I’ve only heard of in the last few weeks: eyebrow lamination. What the heck is eyebrow lamination? Like I’ve done for my brows every day before this one, lemme fill you in.

Eyebrow lamination is a perm for your eyebrows. They should really rename it, but lamination has caught on already, I guess. The results are feathery full, brushed-looking brows with staying not strayin’ power. And the process is simple.

First up, glue! Yep, Lisa coaxed every little hair into position and glued them where they’ll be for the next up-to-eight weeks.

Second step: a solution to soften the hairs is applied and sets. Then another round of solution and setting, this time to make the style permanent. I also got a tint because I have so many blonde hairs in there.

Did I mention Lisa has a cat named Louis? Available for cuddles by request, which obviously I took her up on.

Lisa shaped my new full-looking, ‘laminated’ brows and ta-da, I look polished and current. The style is a bit like microbladed eyebrows but without the major commitment. I’m curious to see how they’ll wear— if you follow me on Instagram, you know I often don’t wear makeup in my stories, so have a peek as the days and weeks go by and see!

Thanks to Makeup Artist Lisa Hallam (tint and shape guru, now with lamination added to her brow services) for having me in. You can book directly online you dig this on-trend style like I do.
