4 Best Vegetarian & Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Saskatoon (2025 Guide)
Whether you’re vegetarian like I am, have one of us in your life, or you’re just trying to balance out your burger nights, I’m sharing four Saskatoon spots who bring the flavour, the vibe, and the veggie-forward options worth writing home (or posting online) about. Let me know which you’ve tried, which you’d still like to, and any other destinations you feel deserve a feature.

1. Sulu
📍 226 2nd Avenue S

Let’s start with the new kid on the block. Sulu is the sister restaurant to Odd Couple (an all-time fave for my family), and it’s bringing big flavour and bold energy to downtown Saskatoon. Owners Andy and Rachael Yuen have poured so much heart into this place, blending their Chinese heritage with global inspiration… and the result is magic.
The vibe is casually upscale (red lanterns, soft lighting, cool music) but never pretentious. It’s the kind of place you can wear sneakers & lipstick, let’s say, and feel right at home. Cocktail lovers, take note: the drink list is full of inspired, delicious surprises.

This is the only place in town with an authentic Japanese binchotan charcoal grill, which features flame heat that seals in natural flavours like no other technique does. My asparagus were proof. Sulu’s bao and dumplings are handmade in-house daily, and their vegan sushi rolls? Showstoppers. We also had the mushroom udon and it was so rich and creamy, I forgot it was vegan. How?! My husband, who is not strictly vegetarian, ordered the shrimp with plans to save half for later. Those plans did not survive the first bite.
Sulu is a whole experience. Don’t miss it.
2. D’Lish by Tish
📍 702 14th St E

Located on a funky little corner in Nutana, D’Lish is one of those neighbourhood gems that feels like a warm hug. Locals are fanatics but it’s still flying under the radar for some folks in the city, so I hope this nudges a few newbies.
Inside, it's a little bit boho, a little bit grandma’s house, and totally charming. Think local art on the walls, with a menu that always has something veggie-friendly and delicious. It’s a go-to for patio paninis, homemade soups, and the kind of burrito bowl (pictured!) that somehow manages to feel both healthy and hearty. Great for solo coffee dates, cozy catch-ups, or journaling with a cookie on the side.
3. Loqui
📍 312 Ave C S

Loqui has serious "hidden gem" energy, tucked into Riversdale, quietly serving up some of the most beautiful plates in the city. Bonus: it’s open on Mondays, which feels like a public service.
It’s a 19+ spot (no kids here), with an open kitchen and a style I can only describe as minimalist 70s luxe. The food? Local, thoughtful, and plated like it belongs in a magazine. While the menu isn’t strictly plant-based, they do veggies really, really well. Pictured, you see a smoky mushroom sharable with crostini (smoke plumes out when the jar is opened), lentil fries with the most delicious creamy curry mayo, and Po Bao— a dish I want you to commit to memory because it’s one of my faves. These are flavours that make you slow down and savour. Loqui is intimate, elevated, and still feels totally relaxed. High flavour but indeed, low key.
4. Fiesta Tacos and Tequila
📍 145 3rd Ave S

If you’ve ever walked past the colourful, festive exterior of Fiesta Tacos & Tequila and not felt like going in, you might be immune to joy. This spot is just straight-up fun, from the facade to the menu to the margaritas.
Yes, they’re known for the QuesaBirria tacos, but there’s plenty here for vegetarian and vegan folks too. In fact, they pride themselves on offering thoughtful options for most dietary needs. Their tacos pack serious flavour, the guac and sauces are fresh and forward, and the multi-colour chips are house made. I loved sampling all the dips (my husband’s fave was the pineapple salsa, I loved the roja and the spicy mango) and ooh that mushroom taco. Will eat it again. Whether you're doing a downtown lunch, going all in with friends, or enjoying a spontaneous date night, Fiesta makes it feel like a celebration.
Saskatoon’s veggie-friendly scene is thriving. It’s not just, “here’s your sad salad”. These spots are thoughtful, flavourful, and full of charm. Whether you're out to impress a plant-based pal or just want something new, these restos deliver.
Tried any of these? Have a hidden gem I should know about? Drop it in the comments. I’m always hungry for suggestions. And if you want to stay in the local loop, find me on Tiktok, on Instagram, and on Facebook. Saskatoon weekend guide out every Thursday on my website.
