Our Stonebridge Saskatoon Home is For Sale: a first look before it hits the market
Big news for our family… which will soon be big news for another family, too. After years of debating & opting to stay put (I mean, we JUST got Wavelengths permanant lighting), we’ve finally decided it’s time for a new chapter. We recently purchased a home closer to the kids’ French school & to the heart of the city, which means less driving for me! I’ll be walking to drop off forgotten lunches, take downtown meetings, and to take in the events I cover on a daily basis. I’m still emotional about moving, but it makes sense.
Our Stonebridge home, which we’ve built & have loved for 14 years, will be listed soon. Before it officially goes up for sale, I wanted to give you, dear reader, a first look. If you or someone you know has been waiting for the right family home in Stonebridge, this might be it!

Come on in. A bright and welcoming entrance greets you with a lofty ceiling. Polished large tiles add to the open feel. From here, hang up your coat and head over to the main floor.
There’s something about this floorplan that lends itself to a very quick tidy— 5 minutes & you’re ready for guests. Perhaps it’s how light-filled the home is, with its large south-facing windows.
You can easily add two more sofas in the living room but it’s so spacious that despite our giving two walls to the piano and fireplace, it’s a comfy place to hang out with friends. Also, you will love living on this acacia walnut flooring. It was a major upgrade when we built but it feels worth it every day.
I remember walking through a showhome of this floorplan and thinking how perfect the kitchen was. I still think that. Watching birds out the windows as you do dishes makes it a pleasant chore, and the work flow just feels right. The induction stove was another big ticket item but boiling water in 30 seconds is magic. It also offers the perfect temperature immediately, you can put a cloth under your pot as you cook so cleanup is done in advance, and you don’t have to worry about burns on a hot stove because it cools so quickly.
The counters are Cambria granite, save for the island which is reclaimed wood. Note that the ice maker is not on the front of the fridge but rather in the freezer— reviews suggested it’s the longer lasting option & it also looks cleaner.
Don’t you just LOVE window light?! And the view is so nice from your dining area, too, now that the backyard has matured so beautifully.
The mainfloor powder room got a glowup just a few years ago and guests often comment on how pretty it is. I agree, obviously. The counter is especially remarkable.
Mainfloor laundry is located by the garage entry and has plenty of storage. The machines have been well-maintained and regularly cleaned inside including filters.
The primary suite, and the full second level, is outfitted in whitewashed, red oak hardwood flooring. The change from carpet was a renovation undergone in 2021.
Your ensuite, like the other bathroom you’ll find upstairs, has the same gorgeous tile as the mainfloor entries.
There are also two more good-sized bedrooms upstairs, this one looks out to the backyard.
And this one looks to the front.
“The kids’ bathroom” is a joyful, playful space with a mural by Feizal of Revive Painting.
Downstairs, you’ll enjoy cozy movie nights in the completely finished basement. Highlights of the main room are the big size that can accommodate extra seating and the custom-built, retro bar by Rhine Artisans in 2023.
And although it doesn’t look like it right now other than a futon, the music room is actually another bedroom, complete with walk-in closet. This “brick” is the only wallpaper in the house that wasn’t professionally done and while I’ll never do peel-and-stick wallpaper again because it took ages & I swore SO MUCH, it turned out pretty good!
A full bathroom is down here as well. I know not many downstairs bathrooms have an actual bath, but I like the option for overnight guests, or if you have a teen that moves down to the basement.
And as lovely as the house is, wait ‘til you see the backyard.
At around 8000 feet, the lot is enormous & it’s all in the back. Room for soccer, throwing a ball around, and with years of care and attention, the grass is lush. Well over 20 mature trees & shrubs make for a private feeling here (very different to when we first bought!) and two new apple trees are already producing. There’s a very small garden area which is just enough for peas, beans, and carrots. Timed underground sprinklers & driplines in the beds mean everything else gets water automatically.
Outdoor living is the crown jewel of this home & it’s hard to pick a favourite area.
Visiting with friends under the vine-draped canopy of the cedar pergola feels like luxury, especially at night when the natural gas fire table is flickering
An outdoor BBQ area with cedar half-pergola gives dedicated space to cooking
Hot dog roasts can happen around the wood firepit in every season.
