On now- Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan: Love & Tyranny Julius Caesar is set in a modern-day republic and Much Ado About Nothing is reimagined with a cast of pirates. This is a rite of summer, get your tickets! $35-54
On now- LEGO Mosaic building events at Saskatoon Public Library locations Help to make a massive LEGO mural by completing a 6x6 dot piece that’s added to a larger square. There are branch events running all through the summer so be sure to check out some dates and locations. Free.
Thurs 1-3pm- Saskatoon Fire Department is hosting a giant slip n slide at John Lake Park. Get into your swimwear and slide down that hill, FREE!
Thurs 6pm at Art Bar- Story Lab: A cozy writers’ circle. Then 7pm- A special Story Jam. The Weight We Silently Cary: Stories of Invisible Disabilities. Through personal storytelling and Q&A, speakers will share experiences of chrinis illness, mental health, and other unseen challenges. Hosted by Aliya Khalid and Tyrell Sargent. Everyone (19+) is welcome, no cover.
Thurs 6:30pm- Globe BMX races. This is a weekly event open to spectators. Free.
Thurs-Sun- Back to Batoche Métis Gathering. The largest outdoor Indigenous festival in Canada! Immerse yourself in Métis culture over four incredible days of celebration and traditional music, dance, and food. Adult day passes (ages 18–59) $20, 4-day pass is $50. Children (0–17), Elders (60+), and Veterans enter for free.
Thurs-Sun- Ness Creek Music Festival Join over 3,000 people in the forest about 2.5 hours North of Saskatoon to enjoy indie, roots & folk music from across the globe and close to home, along with over 100 activities from puppetry to permaculture, from dance workshops to kitchen jams. Camping weekend $300/gate. Thur: $100, Fri: $110, Sat: $120, Sun: free.
Fri 8pm (doors 5:30pm)- Barn Dance at Champetre County half an hour outside Saskatoon. Live music, family activities, campfire, dancing. All ages. $25
Fri 9:30pm- The Lost Boys Drunken Cinema 19+ at Broadway Theatre. Get a game card, a glow stick, and enjoy some bevvies in a rowdy audience. $18
Fri-Sun- SIR car racing- Friday 5pm to dusk is street legal racing where anyone can register to drive their car down the track for $50, spectators $10; Saturday 9:15am it’s FREE spectator day; Sunday 9am spectators are $10
Sat 9am-4pm- Open Cockpit Day at Sask Aviation Museum, $15, kids under 5 free
Sat 10am-5pm- Doukhobor Dugout House: First Night in Canada Plus, visit the Museum and historic dugout houses. Located one hour north of Saskatoon. $14/adult, $12/senior, $8/youth, under 12 free. Or book a Doukhobor bread making workshop ($37.50/adult, $19/child) and get admission included.
Sat 10am-12pm- Zulu Challenge at Meewasin Park An intense fitness challenge for adults, kids, and K9. $60+
Sat 10am-6pm- Dated and Faded Vintage Market at 4th Quarter Vintage 402 33rd St W
Sat 1pm- Offside is screening at Remai Modern, Sounds like an interesting all ages show presented in Farsi with English subtitles. $10/adults, free for members & under 18
Sat 1-2pm- Yoga for Kitties & Puppies in Rotary Park with Alecia Iwanchuck. $27 for 1 hour yoga + ice cream sandwich. $15 from every ticket goes to Saskatoon SPCA
Sat 4-10pm- Bed by 10pm Daytime Clubbing Tour lands at Kalahari, $60
Sat & Sun- Saskatoon Berries Baseball All Stars Weekend Bunt Competition, JR Home Run Derby, WCBL Home Run Derby, Jordyn Pollard Concert …and of course, the All-Star Game on Sunday. Lots of family-friendly fun. Single day pass $20-38 or weekend passes $40-76
Sat & Sun 10am-5pm- Art Show at Big Bright Studio 15 featured artists, a special vintage film, and interactive easels for kids. Go view and support local art, north off Windmill Road by the Berry Barn.
Sat & Sun 11am-4pm-19+ Modern Artmakers all-ages drop-in workshop at Remai Modern by donation, free for members & youth under 18
Sun 9am-noon- Cars & Coffee A weekly meetup for car enthusiasts at Tiger Automotive. All makes & models welcome, go see some cool wheels folks bring out. Free
Sun 1-4pm- Visit The Marr Residence for Games Learn about this historic property at 326 11th Street East while trying your hand at vintage games, admission by donation.
Sun 2pm- Saskatoon Historical Society Walking Tours: Sunday 2pm - History of Montgomery Place (80th anniversary) - Barb Biddle - meet at Montgomery School 3220 Ortona Street. Free!
Sun 1-2pm or 2:30-3:30pm- Busy Bees & Wildflower Seeds drop in program on the Nutrien Wonderhub lawn. Explore the role of pollinators in local ecosystems through hands-on planting activities, projects, and nature-inspired crafts for kids and their grown-ups to enjoy together. Free
